Help Whining From The Rear Of Gtv

hi everyone.Just found the website after switching to a gtv from my barchetta.Looks like I may need the site as I have a couple of teething troubles with the car.Is a high pitched whining noise coming from the rear of the car a common fault? ( yes, it even does it when the kids arent in it!) .It makes the noise when stationary too so, so its nothing to do with the rotating bits at the rear. The service history shows a fuel pump replacement about a year ago, could this be the fault returning? Anyone fixed this fault and know what it entails/costs?

Re: Whining From The Rear Of Gtv

I think it might be the relays in the back when they get hot - mine does it too...your GTV isn't black by any chance?

Re: Whining From The Rear Of Gtv

Not sure what relays there are in the boot, but there are some there. The garage I use said that every black GTV they've serviced has the same problem - yours might be the first silver one

Mines Black and doesn't whine ............ Maybe as a preventative measure, I'll get a respray, just in case it decides to start.......

........ Any suggestions on what the best "Anti Whine" colur might be????............. I'm open to suggestions. But i'm definately not going for that nasty "Zoe - Chip Shop Curry Yellow"..........

Cheers to All
