New 147 owner
Just a quick message to say hello.
After a disagreement with Sytner Oldbury BMW I ended rejecting the car I purchased from them. Its a long story, but don't ever buy a car from them.
I found myself carless and wasn't sure what to get. My father was on the lookout for me and stumbled across a 147 advertised on car and classic. It was just around the corner from him so he went and took a look. He was initially put off as the airbag light was on. We rang back to make an offer with the light on but they had it reset after the viewing. An offer was made which was accepted. I collected the car today.
Its a 2001 and the elderly owner had owned the car since new. Only 47000 miles. Full history and serviced every year no matter. There are a few marks on the body but the interior is lovely.
It drives spot on and the quality and comfort are far higher than i was expecting. Only a couple of niggles. A couple of pixels have gone funny on the digital display and the auto climate has a mind of its own. It suddenly bursts into life for no apparent reason. But these are both things I can live with.
Its booked in for a cam belt and water pump change at Sunnyside garage on Monday. Although it was changed a few thousand miles back its nearly 5 years since it was done so want it changed just to be safe.
I've ordered a Dension thingy so I can hook up my iPod and waiting to see if an offer has been accepted for a dog guard advertised on eBay.
Hopefully it will serve me well and I'm looking forward to some enjoyable miles.
Ive never considered an Alfa before. I've alway driven something more sensible. Certainly something different to the bland golfs I was looking at.
