Wanted to find out why there is a high pitched noise coming from the engine which is proportional to engine revs; been doing it 2 weeks now; main garage suggested water pump was leaking coolant but there has been no visible sign of this from reservoir and I don't fancy paying their £800 fees because I don't believe them; I had to replace the battery last week but it's had limited power for the last 2 years!; there has been a burnt smell from the engine today which smells like a burnt copper or the smell you get when your Dyson motor burns out - I assume this is the Alternator but I'm assured by the garage who replaced the battery last week that it was charging normally.
