New Brera

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and liking the forum!

I just made an impulse buy on a 2007 Brera, 2.4 JTD. She has high mileage but runs and drives sweet. It came with service history like War and Peace so I know she's been looked after.

It had the cold start coughing and spluttering for 5-10 second problem, which it appears quite a few people with the diesel engine have.

I took the EGR valve off and cleaned it, following a recommendation from someone on this site, with Wynn's EGR aerosol cleaner put some Wynn's injector cleaner in with 35l of diesel and it worked a treat. I'm well chuffed!

I have some bits that I want done and wondered if you guys would put some rough figures on them from experience?:

1. Cam belt and water pump change

2. Very squeaky front drivers side suspension. I had the same problem with my 147. Drove me crackers!

Thanks for any responses

Hi and welcome,

The rough figures obviously depend on where you are

A cambelt and water pump change I reckon is going for around GPB 600 around London (someone with the knowledge will verify this much better than me!) while the same work is around 1500 over here in Switzerland
