Problem with the climate control. Can direct air just fine but only hot air comes out on high speed colder air on low speed? no clicking sound noted

Climate control problem
I have a 1995 164 LS. Any posibility that the cable for the air temp could be disconnected? I have a passenger side air bag, how does that affect me cutting into the glove box to fix the steppers?

Welcome to AO, sorry to hear about the problems with the 164. Good thing is, if somethings broke we've probably heard about it before.

Check the 164 and 166 lounge, someone there will be able to help you
