Hi , just bought 156 20v jtd sportwagon as I have always found Italian cars give me a feedback and feel German cars can`t approach. However, I`m a bit nervous about starting another `affair` with it`s ups and downs as I am now a married man with kid.... E.g. Have been told the dual-mass flywheel could be sticking which is causing difficulty selecting first 3 gears and kick-back through gear lever- mechanic said, "may as well change clutch while changing flywheel"! Double de-clutching works but to me a powerful car is pointless if one cannot do quick gearchanges. ( I`m not that quick at double de-clutching). I sometimes cannot select 1st from a standstill which is not fun in London traffic, though pumping clutch pedal works. I read on some thread that it could be broken spring in clutch master cylinder. Is this wishful thinking? Strangely, selecting first while car is rolling slightly is very easy.
Also brakes feel weak but am told this is normal as this model has smaller servo than 10 valves I`ve driven which have better feel.
Any comments much appreciated.
