Hi all fae scotland
Just introducing myself, I joined today after buying my first ever Alfa at the tender age of 42 LOL.
I've had one of most cars over the years, but never came close to choosing an Alfa - mostly because I so wanted a GTV or Cloverleaf, and couldnt afford one when I was young. Then along came the 156.....we were just looking for "something" to replace our aged and sick Audi A4, which had replaced a Golf GTi and a string of Japs before it.
The 156 immediately caught my eye on our local car dealership's website, and that was it. A dark blue 156 JTD 1.9 - I was in love.
Now I've read all the reliability issues, got the pdf's on bonnet catch maintenance, read owners reviews etc and I would say that vw & Audi whom I have a lot of respect for, aren't without their faults too, so the Alfa doesnt seem bad in comparison especially considering its a sports car, no compromises, but is practical like a family saloon. Thoroughbreds are known to be tempremental!
So I dive into Alfa ownership with my eyes open, and hope my new car is as much fun to drive as it is good to look at.
Nice to meet you all from both of us!
