I'm relatively new to the world of Alfa Romeo ownership and have to say in the 8 months that apply there have been various high's but sadly more lows!
I own and drive a 156 Tourismo and the car looks fantastic and when it feels like it, it drives as sweet as a nut.
However, 1 month after purchasing we got the dreaded Motor Control Failure....turns out the middle Cat had expired, we took it back to the dealer and they replaced it.
Then on with 6 months of motoring bliss.
Now, whaddaya know, Motor Control Failure!!
So along I trip to a great little garage in Leeds, Turin Motors(Alfa & Fiat specialist - and extremely helpful) who have given me a list of problems amounting to around £1500. In the main the pair of Cats at the front of the exhaust have failed £700 and also I have no way of knowing if the Cam belt has ever been changed so I'm having to do that £400 as it turns out there only good for 32000? The rest is just odd bits and bats that add up.
Anyway, I'm pleased to announce that the 6 months the car has been running like a dream have been enough to convince me to get my hand in my pocket and get it back on the road.
