Well i thought id say hello and introduce myself. I bought my 156 about 2 months ago. I wanted a different car but i didnt really know what i wanted i had spotted a 156 near to where i live and thought that it was quite smart. Then about 2 wks later one was advertised in my local paper. Well viewed it, tested it, fell in love with it then bought it. It is red with camel leather and walnut interior. I knew i wanted to make a few changes to it. So i started with the side repeaters i changed them for clear. Then it was the wheels they had to go just looked too small to me so after about 3 wks of wheels headaches(Alfa's seem to be the worst car to get wheels for as nothing seems to fit!!).i found some and would be with me in 2 wks. They arrive nice 17" multispoke well pleased and the car does look good. The mirrors are gonna be next. Can anyone help me as my little lovely is poorly she doesnt seem to be able to maintain idling. It doesnt seem to know what to do keeps revving up and down very strong smell of petrol. Had AA out and he just scratched his head and said" Alfas lovely cars but their a nightmare when they go wrong". Doesnt really help as you can imagine. Does anyone know a good reputible Alfa mechanic in Southampton area to help me? Pleeeese.
