Hello everyone. I need some help with my 1997 GTV

I am new to this forum and am accessing from Dublin. I own two Alfas - a 156 and more recently I bought a 1997 GTV.

The GTV is wonderful, car of my dreams and has been running perfectly. However at the weekend I was away (5 days in all) and when I got back the battery was completely dead. I tried to jump start it with the 156 and it took power alright but just wouldn't actually start. The key code icon in the centre and another little icon beside the rev counter which normally go out when I put the key to the MAR position are now staying on.

Unfortunately I only have 2 keys and one of them is just a copy. I don’t have any key card or anything like that.

This question has probably been answered before so I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if so can you tell me what I need to do.

Is one of the keys a dark burgundy colour? As for the key card, according to my owners manual, they didnt supply them to the UK market, something to do with insurance companies

No one of the keys is blue and the other one is red with the alfa logo stuck on.

Do you have any suggestions going to try and fix it again tonight?

No master key then, if you re-post this with the header No Master Key then someone with the knowledge will find it. There are definitely people on here who could help but without the master key i'm afraid i'm useless to you. Sorry
