Greetings! I needed to get another car. I own a Fiat Panda!
After quite a bit of research into various makes I decided that an Alfa was for me.
I ummed and aahed about the merits of the various models and whether my tall frame would fit in them with comfort and decided on a 156.
Next decision was the engine I decided on the JTD 20 V and went down to Lincolnshire to look at a car with 94,000 on the clock and a pretty full service history with, among other things, the timing belt and water pump replaced in the last three months. Body work was in VGC.
Never having driven an Alfa before the test drive was a little tentative but I learned all that I needed to know. The deal was struck as provisionally agreed.
The drive home was a revelation. This car has excellent acceleration and is very comfortable to drive. I am very pleased!
I will now have to get to grips with the owner's manual.
The car is a little more complicated than my Panda.
I hope to do some of my own basic servicing and look forward to reading the advice and wisdom that other owners share on this forum.
