Don't quite know what additional info will help but here goes!
Ordered a new 159 2.4 JTD from Autolusso at end of June. Delivery said to be 13 weeks (contract letter says "please allow 13 weeks"). Paid £1,000 deposit to Ned and left happy. My previous alfa (166) had been written off shortly before and I was looking forward to a great new 159!
By end September no sign of car and no sign of delivery date. Laurence had rung at the back end of the month when I was away and when I caught up with hime message was "problem with Alfa as they are to busy making ti models and so can't make yours anytime soon - could be sometime in first three months of next year!
So we are now talking about a 27 week+ delivery time - perhaps!
I can't wait that long - so tell Laurence to cancel and (although I think this is such a poor service that they should give all £1,000 back) accept that I am only entitled to £500 under the T's and C's
Laurence says "OK, deposit will get paid back in next couple of weeks. Since then, despite several phone calls, a registered letter and frequent suggestions that I should speak to Felicity Utton (who is only in on a Friday and never actually available when I call) NO RETURN OF MY £500.
You have to wonder why Ned and Felicity don't pay back the bit of the deposit they have to - No properly run business would want all this negative publicity!
Anyway, I suppose I'll have to chase this through Trading Standards, Small Claims Court etc. There is, of course, the possibility that they never actually order the cars at all - I've never seen any proof mine was ordered - and just pocket the cash. Not sayings its so - just a thought!
