1st Time Alfa owner
Hi all - just stumbled across this site after buying myself a nice 156 V6 last week.
Was considering an Alfa 156 for some time now, but also considered the Volvo S40 T4 or the new shape Honda Accord 2.4 - I'm glad to say I made the right choice. It looks great in shiny red with cream leather interior.
It will soon need its 60,000 mile service and I'm trying to find an indy Alfa specialist here in South Wales - had a quick look thro the yellow pages, but no luck yet. Anyone here know of anywhere relatively close - maybe Bristol?
I've just upgraded from a VW tdi with top spec, and have to say much prefer the Alfa.
For a 2001 car it still looks great and the cabin is a really nice driving environment. Haven't really put my foot down in it yet, but from only taking it to about 3500 rpm I can see it's a completely different animal to a tdi. Whereas the VW turbo would cut in about 2000 and whisk you off quickly, I have to say I thought the Alfa was a bit cumbersome on my 1st drive. I'm guessing I'm just too used to the diesel engine and need to just take the revs up higher to appreciate the power of the engine. Got a trip up north later in the week, so I'll get some nice A roads in I think!
