I very nearly bought a 156 Twin Spark a good few years ago, only for the owner to change their mind while I was on the way to collect the car. He just couldn't bear to part with it when push came to shove.
Many years later and a forum member popped his 156 up on eBay for what I thought was a reasonable price and I pushed the button on it.
It is a Rosso Red 1998 156 V6 2.5 with what as far as I can work out is Sport Pack 3 and Momo 17" alloy wheels. It also has a wizard exhaust and has been treated to coil overs and has a FSH. Most importantly timing belt done last year.
It was advertised with a coolant leak and although I'm not 100% sure having drained and bled the cooling system, it hasn't budged all week and I've done about 600 miles in it during that time.
I've already ordered an aux crank pulley as it definitely wobbles at idle and sounds a bit like a milk float when warmed up but so far that's honesty the only issue I've found with it.
The A/C even works having been correctly evacuated and refilled and AlfaDiag (bought already) reports no fault codes.
All in all - not bad for a 17 year old car and I'm absolutely loving the engine noise with the wizard exhaust!
Looking forward to spending at least as much time driving it as I do armed with the spanners
