Introduction with my Pollen Filter issue

Hello there AlfaRomeo friends,

I have this 2001 156 Veloce and still believe it's one of the best rolling on roads. However I must also add that sofar (almost 6 1/2 years) have had no positive experience with various Alfa garages in my area between London and Berkshire. Any idea of a very good one?
Because of that and the exorbitant charges for servicing at this stage I'm opting for a DIY mode starting with the basic yearly maintenance. I hope that you lot will be of assistance with queries I might have when trying to be a "professional" handyman.
Thank you very much for any help.

Cheers!!!!!

Re: Introduction with my Pollen Filter issue

Welcome to the forum Carlo. You should also be aware that it is mandatory to get pictures of your car on here too and as quickly as possible ....

I'm based in Buckinghamshire and I can recommend L&M International in Lane End near High Wycombe (independent and low labour rates) or SGT in Taplow (dealer). I've not use them for a while but AlfaAid in Maidenhead also get a strong thumbs-up from the Alfisti here (another specialist, but high labour rates).

I do most of my own work on my 1998 model myself, having tackled brakes, suspension and some of the electrics. In a attempt to help others, I started to put together a series of "how-to" documents and stored them on a website ... you can click on the link in my signature area below ...

Many of the regular maintenance jobs are pretty straight forward, but like all cars, if they have been a bit neglected, they tend to be a bit stubborn and won't let you get bolts off, etc. without a fight

Good luck!

cheers, Gary

Re: Introduction with my Pollen Filter issue

Hi Gary,

Great! Thank you very much for your kind welcome and usefull suggestions. As for the car's picture I have some on another machine not at hand now but I can give a shot from my Nokia mobile and publish the modest result hereto.

Your site: Brilliant idea too to have a handy link to consult as I have a few issues I want to tackle soon. I'll open and save it as My Favourites to consult later on.

I Just posted a query on "Pollen Filter", where I'm wondering where to fit in part 2 of 2 as I can only see space for 1 of 2. The filthy old one I took out is not twice the size of the smaller I could fit in. My 156is a 2001 model bought Feb 01 in Reading from Alan Day, who closed down soon thereafter.

Will revert soon with my appreciations of your work. Thanks again!

Cheers!
