Looking at getting a 159

The lease on my current car (Australian Ford Falcon XR6) expires next year and I am seriously considering replacing it with a 159, but am worried about reliability problems so have joined this forum to learn a bit first. Initial impressions a bit worrying, but some people seem very positive.

Re: Looking at getting a 159

Hi Stewart,

I'm from Melbourne and have had a black/tan 159 JTS 2.2 sedan since March this year.

The answer to your question is to take one for a test drive and see how you feel. I felt the same as you about the "reputation" but if you read Wheels magazine, they think it's the best Alfa Romeo ever produced.

I guess, no guarantees but if you're ever going to own an AR then this is one the "punt" on.

Me? I'm absolutely in love with it. Have had no problems at all to speak of and the engine is beautiful, both in performance and sound!

It's not the biggest of this class inside but it's big enough.

My thoughts are if you love how it looks, you'll love this car - it's like having a 4 door sports car and unlike any other car I've owned, the novelty is not wearing off!

P.S. If you're in Melbourne then Lance Dixon i Doncaster seems to be the most helpful. There service department are very professional.

P.P.S. If you can, get he 18" wheels instead. I did and glad I did - finishes the car off nicely.

P.P.P.S. The tan interior holds up better than I expected too!

Gotta agree with Andrew. I looked at a few makes but AR blew them away.. Oh and welcome BTW
