Here's a quick update. As the remote locking key is long gone, I have been trying to install an aftermarket central locking controller but not had much luck. Can get it to lock ok but on unlocking it re locks straight away. Think I may still be getting the earth signal on the lock wire. so more research and experimenting required there.
My timing belt kit, waterpump and variator have arrived from Shop4parts.. great service. So was hoping that would be next weekends job, But have since noticed blue smoke on startup.. so either valve guides/stem seals or rings! The car has been stood for 9 years.
so its a head off job either way. Anyone know if the sump will come off with the engine still in place?
If the pistons are comming out for a re-ring then its time to replace shells too.
Have decided to get the engine running 100% before I do anything else.
Turning into a bit more than I expected. But still worth it :-)
