Hi All! Just Bought 147 TS Lusso. Was Price too much?

Hi all, i just bought a used Alfa 147 2.0 TS Lusso. Further details below...

Do you think the price i paid was reasonable/extortionate?

ABS, Alloy wheels, Climate Control, Computer, Cruise control, Driver airbag, Electric mirrors, Electric windows, Foglights, Front armrest, Head restraints, Headlight washers, Folding rear seats, Immobiliser, Sat Nav, Passenger airbag, Power assisted steering, Remote locking, Side airbags, Radio/CD, no road tax...

It was advertised at £5,495, but dealer came down to 5,150 and also offered a year's warranty.

sounds about right(i'm sure someone will say other wise).
Perhaps a bit steep but you'll always pay a bit more from a dealer.
Did you get a good warranty?

Fredzedex, the dealer said the warranty will cover all mechanical and electrical faults. He initially offered a 3-month warranty which i managed to haggle upwards to 12months. The cambelt hasn't been changed, so i made an issue of that saying that, for assurance, he must offer me a better warranty.

I'll be collecting 'her' from the dealer on Wednesday...and will be giving her a good seeing-to! ;-)

Hi ,I'm sure you'll be delighted with the car.The price is about right for a good car but is he doing the cambelt before you pick her up?I got my 156 for a decent price and then realised the cam belt needed doing in the 3 year time limit and it cost me £400 ,anyway happy motoring

That's all right, I got my 1.6 for £5k with a USELESS 3 year AA warranty, so yeah, nice one!

Makes me wonder on the 'markups' though, after the 'bag of peanuts' they offered us on our '51 12,000 miler, virtually as new, (if not better, after my fussing about with her) as a part exchange, which I naturally told them to politely stuff!:

A car, like anything else, is worth what you are willing to pay. If you are happy then it does not matter what anyone else pays.

I freely admit that I paid over the odds for my GTV but I love it and that's what counts.

As i said originally, get a good one that doesn't require too much 'Spend' and the extra cost above lower priced ones requiring attention, will be well worth it.:

About right I think. Would insist on the belts if I was you, but ensure variator in also.

Mine was 4995 without sat nav, but with 39k. Could have a good one or a bad one, as the other guys have said, time will tell, but get those belts sorted (correctly) peace of mind would be worth another £500 in my mind, looks like a bust cambelt will start costing £1500+ in repairs.
