159 2.2 TI JTS

Thumbs Up Upgraded from 156 to 159

Hi all
I have just moved on to a 159 2.2 TI JTS after 8 years joyous driving a couple of 156 2.0 JTS's.
Absolutely love it but after driving it (almost non-stop) for two days there are a couple of niggles.
I wasn't provided with a wallet with the user manuals so I'm struggling to use the sound system, particularly the USB slot; from the main panel my wife can't control the USB (or is that a godsend?), only I can go backwards and forwards with the controls on the wheel , so I really need a manual or guide; any suggestions?
The second niggle is the lack of an ashtray (don't say stop smoking, my mother has been saying that for twenty years!!). Is there a suitable one available anywhere that slips into the centre console? I have looked everywhere, the ones in the shape of a cup for the cup-holder seem too big.
Apart from these issues it truly is an amazing car to drive, although a bit low so I have to be extra-careful over speed bumps.
Apart from the above I just know I am going to get plenty of joy from my new toy.

Press the phone button on the wheel and look at the menu on the dash. Scroll down and select media player in the menu, then folders. From there you can select a folder to play. The phone button always selects a menu item. It's a pain to navigate if you have a lot of folders but works well enough.

On the ashtray, try talking to your local indy garage. If they are breaking a 159 then they will probably have an ashtray to fit the centre console. Autolusso sell lots of bits on eBay. Alfa Aid have my old 159 for spares.

Hope you enjoy your car. I love mine!

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a try, but I don't remember seeing the phone symbol on the wheel.
About the ashtray problem, another "non-smoking" AO member has sent me one....what a great group Alfistas, eh??
Am I enjoying the car?? Well, I've been driving Alfas for around 20 years (33, 75, 164 and recently a couple of 156's, always petrol) and they all had a great sense of safety and taughtness, but this 159 really is something else. I'm by no means a boy racer but I do like throwing it into bends and powering out, it has incredible road-holding, a great driving position and really precise steering; thirsty yes, but who cares? It's an Alfa and a real eye-catcher. So happy with my choice, and best of all my wife fell in love with it as soon as she saw it. Now if I can solve the problem of changing tracks when I play music through memory stick in the USB slot using the main controls on the stereo maybe she'll be even happier!!!
