Just put a deposit down on an X reg 156 2.0 TS in burgandy/red. Its got 82000 mile and a full service history, cost £2695. I'm new to alfa'a but always wanted one. Is there any thing in particular i should be looking out for with them? really looking forward to getting it. Been driving a Primera 2.0 sri for past 2 years....bit of a step change.... Got myself a private plate coming too so it should look the business!!
The main issue with the Twin Spark engine is that it must have its cam belt and tensioners replaced every 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Thanks for that, The garage i'm getting it from is servicing and MOTing it for me...think it shoud have been done on its 72000 service but its one of the things they are specifically checking...also got an issue with the air bag light staying on but that should get done too....other than that its Mint condition...excellent for an X reg..once i get it i'll post some pics!! Really chuffed i've got one!!!!
Do you trust the garage to carry out the work properly for you? Some places will just replace the belt which is pointless if the tensioner bearing is knackered.
yeah i think so,...they're a small independant family run garage in scunthorpe, JH spavin who basically run it from their house!!!! been a service centre since the 50's....it seems to me that they treat you better than the bigger places
