New owner of not-so-new Alfetta
I have acquired a 1975 Alfetta 4DR. It hasn't run in over 10 years. I worked on it while the previous owner was still driving it. I found it to be a very entertaining automobile to drive. It is essentially a rust bucket. My intention is to not touch the outside at all. I want to make a little sleeper out of it. I'd like to enhance its performance a little bit while still keeping it a reasonable vehicle to drive, whether in town, or a bullet run up to Kitt Peak and back. For the most part, the project is on the back burner until I can refresh all the fluids and go through the brakes and carbs as necessary. After getting it back on the road, I'll be looking for some tire, drive train and suspension enhancements. I would also like to replace its headlights with some fine Italian or French lighting, I'm thinking Carello, Machal or Cibie. I'd also like to do this without spending a whole month's Social Security check on them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a bunch!
