Newbie from Madagascar here. I don't own an Alfa (yet) and never owned one before, but hopefully I'll own one in the near future.
I'm considering a 159 1.9 JTDm 16v Q-tronic as my future ride, and I've got to admit the forums have been a tremendous help so far, researching stuff and whatnot. The Alfa community is a great helpful, passionate, dedicated one, and I look forward to be part of that community. Hopefully one day I'll be helpful to new Alfa owners too.
Now to go back briefly to my future ride, the reason I am leaning towards a 16v Q-tronic is mainly because I intend on keeping the car for many years to come and the 1.9 is a proven engine and seems like the better bet of the lot when it comes to longevity, at least in my understanding. Also, it looks like there is a high probability that the manual M32 (I've also researched Opels - Vauxhalls in the UK? - before considering Alfas so I've read quite a bit about that gearbox) will be problematic at some point (they're known to cause troubles even on the 1.3 CDTi Opels/Vauxhalls), whereas the Q-tronic seems like a rock solid gearbox.
Anyway, I still have many questions I'd like to ask, but I'll do that in the appropriate sections.
