Found this site after searching for info on the dreaded cambelt issues. Ours is in for surgery as we speak - not something I expected when we bought it last year at 4yrs/29000 miles!
However paranoia set in when I noticed all the other rubber components on the car were perishing and the original rear tyres were shaped like 50p coins!
Still, I've always liked Alfas and figured the old adage that you are not a true car nut till you have one is true (even though I have had some gorgeous cars). The 147 is technically the missus' car, but seeing as I sought it out we have a special bond if you know what I mean
. Tried to convince her to get a nearly new 147 2 years ago instead of the new Mini she bought, and guess what she hated it and loves the 147 at 1/2 the price. Oh well it was only money...
Doubt I'll have much to contribute here here just yet, with any luck no horror stories anyhow.
