Glad to hear you got your GTV and the best engine at that. I've had my 3litre; 5 speed, red also, tan leather, since 2000 - Dec. '98 with 5000 on clock. Only done 30k as mostly goes to Italy. Spends winter in garage but never had any real problems other than mass flow sensor being replaced. A little floor attention is worth while, just a regular inspection and re-under seal where necessary. Had a new clutch slave cylinder fitted - 70 plus vat and replaced the discs and pads - stayed with OM discs. Had Alfas continuously since the seventies and pleasure they give far outweigh any problems I've had. Just need a bit of respect; get the oil/engine temperature up. before driving hard and just stay on top of the maintenance. Don't mess with the suspension as the rear is a lot cleverer than most of us understand - Alfa engineers new what they were doing and the passive rear wheel steering requires flexing, whereas poly bushes resist it. Just bought a 3.2 Q4 159, but am still unwilling to get rid of the GTV. I'm not going to get what I think it is worth, so it will continue to live mostly in the garage until summer. But At least it's not going to be wrecked by some speed fantasist. Enjoy yours, It will get under your skin, just as mine has.

Agreed!

Welcome mikejohn49. I hope you have as much fun from your car as I have with mine over the last 4 years on road and track.
The suspension geometry produces heavy wear on the inside edge of tyres but, in my opinion, the front can be improved with Eibach camber bolts and the toe adjusted for optimum wear according to your driving style.
Having said that, apart from the above, I've maintained rather than modified mine.
I purchased a Grand Touring Veloce and that's what it does - brilliantly!
ENJOY!
