Just bought a 147, few probs

Hi there, i am new to this site and wud like to say hi and pic a few brains.

Very worried now i have had a few days driving this car, it has a noise from the front, clunking and clattering on pretty much any uneveness in the road, like zig zag lines, small pot holes, it is rather loud and feels like its more from the near side front and knocks right across front of the car, rather loudly, and through the steering wheel it feels like things are very loose, like the wheels may fall off anytime. i have checked all wheel nuts, and thinking after reading the numerous threads on drop links it my be that. By the way its a 147, 1.6 on 51 plate with 75K miles. on looking for the drop links and AR under the car i noticed from the off side front wheel, if i look in where the AR goes thru the car to the other side it is damp and a slight drip, but on touching it, it does not seem thick even or sticky enough to be oil.

Is the car safe to drive with all this banding from the wheel area, on the motorway if feels a little shakey.

Also has the prob with the gear shift feeling stiff when moving it left to right or vice versa in neutral, i have read the links for the simple job of replacing the bushes in the engine compartment, but i dont feel confident enough, and wonder if my independant garage are likely to know about this fix or wud you think i will have to print some threads to get the job done with minimal cost.

Door clicking on opening, i believe its called a check strap, is this easy to repair. and 2 of the 3 rear seat belt buckles will not allow me to insert the metal push in clasp.

God why on earth did i buy this car, as reading all these threads has me worried, plus with the problems with this car, anyone think i best just to trade it in and get rid or is it all able to be resolved without too much cost, if anyone could give me a clue on cost would be great.

Cheers guys deano
