New to Alfa's

Just thought I would introduce myself, I'm 28 years old, male and live in North Derbyshire.

I'm looking at buying either a 166 or 156 to replace my Citroen Xantia which was recently written off, Along with the MR2 which hit it in accident recently.

Thankfully the smash was in no way my fault and neither I, my pregnant wife or the guy who hit us was badly injured.

Good thing was that my I got back double what I paid for my Xantia!

Anyway I've been looking around on ebay for what to get as a replacement, I loved my xantia, it was quirky and had a lovely smooth ride, never let me down either ! but I want something a little more modern, and better looking.

Always thought a Alfa was well out of my price range, until clicking on Alfa's on ebay.

Turns out I can afford a sporty looking car, and can pick up a fairly recent, kitted out car for what I would have paid for a basic Pug 406!

Anyway the search is on and by the middle of next week I hope to be the owner of either a 156 or 166 !

Re: New to Alfa's

I recommend the 156 2.4JTD. Probably the best residuals, most come with a decent spec and they offer a good compromise between having the power of the 2.5 (when remapped) and the fuel economy of the 1.6

Plus the smokescreen comes in handy too

Thanks for all your warm welcomes. I would love to get a Diesel 156, but they are a bit out of my price range.

My wife's due on 2 July, with a boy our first child
