I'll be picking up a 159 1.9JTDM Sportwagon in Exeter on Saturday and driving it back up to Aberdeenshire, so thought signing up here was a wise move! The trip should get me used to the car, at least.
The 159 will be replacing a Honda Accord as a family car. The Honda was fine, just fed up with it really. Having spoken to a 159 owner in Dunkirk last summer and had a look at his car, it was top of my list. Prior to that we had an MG ZT CDT, and a few various Rover 75s.
I drive an imported 1993 Honda Prelude 2.2 VTEC (proper, old-fashioned, rip-snorting VTEC - none of the modern economy-minded nonsense version) myself, and come very much from a Celica (popup lights version) background before that.
Following a familiarisation period of a few months, the first major task for the 159 will be to get us to Hungary and back in the summer. Done the trip annually for over 10 years in various cars, with a tent in the back and lots of camping stop-offs.
Looking forward to benefitting and contributing when I can!
