I first started working on Alfas in 1961 at Taylor & Crawley and joined Ala Romeo at Edgware Road in 1975 .
The companionship within the Field staff the was unforgettable .In fact some of the old Team are still in touch with each other !
Inevitable ,new regimes slowly took over the Management and implanted their chose friends withing the Company resulting with a number of folks who were close to the old established network were no longer felt useful and we were made redundant as sales fellin the 80s.
I've always regarded my days of looking after the interests on the Dealer Network as the happiest days of my working life and up until recently was involved in the odd Alfa racing project .
I no longer feel attracted to the current offerings but still follow the the old 105 series and indeed the original Sud as I feel the 1975 1200 Sud to be one of the best driver cars produced .
The rust problem is unfortunately a well known disaster whch was borne of necessity as the steel on offer to Italy was not up to the standard required outside of the Mother Country .
However ,those old cars will never lose their charm or their dedicated followers of which I remain one .
