First time Alfa'er
I moved back from the middle east a few months ago and was looking to buy a VW Transporter.
Browsing through AutoTrader I randomly searched for 159s purely out of curiosity and the SWs just didn't leave my mind after that point.
Transporters are great but the 2nd hand prices were just too much.
Looked at a few beemers and merc estates too, but they all just look so bland and the only real benefit of them was fuel economy.
A 159 is almost as practical right?
So i got a 159 2.4 SW ti from an Evans Halshaw. The 2nd hand salesman there was a massive ***, which nearly had me walking away form the buy twice.
I took it too Autolusso for rust treatment and the free health check after a few weeks.
Turned out the inlet manifold was pretty screwed and the cranks case was leaking oil. Cam belt was new from the last service but as Alfa did it the water pump was still original.
So had a new inlet manifold (swirls deleted) and seals fitted, cam belt service and erg blanked.
Pretty glad a took out an extended warranty with it- already paid for itself.
Just had steering lock issues this week so the Autoluuso boys sorted that and another warranty claim has gone it.
Will be back in the spring for power flex and hopefully the new Wizard exhaust too.
Bloody love this car.
