Wave Hi There, Newbie from Norfolk

Hi I am a Massive Alfa Fan, but as yet I have not owned one. I am hoping that will change this summer. I am looking to get a 166 2.5 or 3.0.

We have an Alfa in the Family already as my mother owns a facelift 156 Sportwagon 1.9 JTD and she used to own a GTV6 back in the 80's. I have wanted an Alfa for ages but didn't think I could afford to buy what I wanted (V6 Power) until I realised you can get a good 166 for less than 4k. That was last year and I looked around a bit but never got as far as buying one, so I put my desires to rest for a while I concentrated on getting my business running. Then the other day my best mate popped round in his brand new 147 Collezione (No. 1 of 500, lucky git) to take me for a spin, it was then that I remembered how special an Alfa can make you feel and decided to start looking again.

Please don't judge me but currently drive a Ford Puma 1.7 Zetec. I never set out to buy the Puma but it was on my Local Alfa/Fiat forecourt when I took my old Fiat in. It was in my pricerange so I took it for a spin, It may look odd some angles but it really flies and goes round corners beautifully. But its boring inside, its not exactly beautiful and averages 23 MPG from a 1.7!!

Is the 166 a good choice? I'm still considering a 156 V6 but I think the 166 is much prettier and the interiors seem better equipped.

Anyway Hello and sorry if I've gone on a bit.

2003 166 2.0TS Lusso on the way.
