Hi people. I've come to this forum as I'm thinking about getting a 159 Sportwagon for my next car. I'm a fair way off finally deciding as I'm torn between the captain sensible option (A4 avant) or the heart led option (159) either way I'll go slightly sensible by going for a diesel. I'll probably be changing cars in jan/feb 08 but it takes me along time to decide! We (her and me) are currently driving two Renault meganes, hers is the CC version and mine is the sport tourer. So we are no stranger to cars with a dodgy reliability image! Anyway, I'll be looking through the posts here to see what real people think about these beautiful cars. My flatmate at college had a series of Suds that were fantastic but a bit on the fragile side. The only one that didn't break all the time he managed to crash and write off! As I remember the sprint versions used to leak more than our CC does! Memories of the Sud sprint were reinforced when I came across a rather special modified sprint with a full space frame rear and a mid mounted ferarri V8 driven by a certain Andrew Burton in rallies such as the Wyedean - after that one broke he progressed onto a 306 cosworth which is still winning rallies today. I've never managed to shake off the desire to own an Alfa and the 159 may finally be the one that makes it happen!
