1st time Alfa Owner - Newbie....

Hi gang,

On Saturday I became the proud owner of a bright red 2009 159 Sportwagon. It's a Lusso with the 1.9jtdm motor.

After being without a car for a week and having test driven Audi's and BMW's and Ford's and getting thoroughly frustrated with them, I thought what better time to become an Alfa owner? The reviews of the 159 were favourable and the reliability seems to have massively improved over the years, so I took the plunge.

Initial thoughts:

Oh but it's a nice place to be. The cabin is great, the leather seats are really comfortable and it's just cool to drive.

It's not very fast, it feels heavy but it's surprising when you look down at the speedo and you're doing 80+ without feeling like it.

The engine has a distinct 'tick' like an injector or something, seems to be quite common but I'm going to have it checked out. The cambelt and waterpump is being done this week.

It's just different. It's cool. I just want to polish it, you know...?

Fuel consumption isn't great, worse than I'd hoped but it might just be me getting used to it.

The wife has come round to it though....

Any tips or things to check from you guys would be greatly appreciated!
