Thanks for the warm welcome.
Hello. Whya a closet Alfa fan?
The thing is I love Alfas. Always have since I was a kid and used to get a spin in my older cousin's Guilietta (sp?). When I went to university I used to get a lift in a Junior with a modified 2l Berlina engine in it - story went that the car used to belong to Viglietti (local Ferrari dealers) and that they raced it on the track. Suffice to say Golf II Gti, Opel Gsi and most other "hot" cars of the era were easily dispensed with, without breaking a sweat.
But I am a bit of a wimp and the "problems" associated with Alfa scare me. As much as I love the 145 I had, I had endless problems from the day I drove it brand new off the dealer floor. I am now entering a more sensible period of my life (getting close to 40) and while I am looking for a Sportwagon, I am keeping one eye on the Beemers and Audis costing the same.
I have seen the perfect wagon, 2.5 V6 Black with red leather, sunroof, selespeed wheels, Alfa sport suspension. It is the colour combo I have always wanted. The car has been at this dealer for more then three months so I know he is open for negotiation. The thoughts going through my mind are should I take the chance or should I do the sensible thing and get a German appliance?
Whatever happens, there WILL be an Alfa in my life before I kick the bucket. And it will be one of either the 2.5 Sportwagon, 3.0/3.2 GTV or the 3.2 GT.
