Returning to the fold
This may not be my first post on the forum but I have had a bit more time to read the "protocol" so thought I'd better follow the prescribed etiquette!
10 years ago We closed our business in Swindon and moved to Devon, after selling the various company vehicles and spending some time deciding what practical but "sporty" replacement would fulfil our needs I bought my first Alfa, a 156 Sportwagon! Almost 90k on the clock and not very tidy (it had been owned by a tradesman and carted around plastering gear in the back), but after a weekend of TLC it looked beautiful and became our favourite drive. After about 18 months I was issued a company car and the Alfa was relegated to being an unused second car so it was sold but 8 years later and I find myself on the redundancy list and despite all the trauma I can finally own a car I really like driving again. The MGFT I test drove was disappointing and too small for anyone with "stuff" so again we looked at the Alfa's.
I am now the proud owner of WG02 EKC, a RED 156 Sportwagon with phone dial alloys and full leather interior. It even has a Wabasto sunroof and has less miles than the car I sold 8 years ago. I guess the smile on my face is pretty evident!
The car was owned by the Service manager at the Alfa dealer so it seems to be in pretty good nick but as a family man with a tight budget a few niggley accessories aren't workin so I will be visiting the tech forum quite regularly. First order of business is the 72k service which the main dealer wants £790 to perform!!! I think this might be a DIY job!!!
Anyway Hello everyone....
