Hi guys! Just a quick post to say hi from a new member.
Firstly a bit of history. I've always been into my cars. First car was a Vauxhall Calibra. Progressed onto a Saab 93 convertible, Mercedes ML430 (don't know why), Audi TT 225 bhp, Audi S6 (the one with the V10 engine), Range Rover Vogue (again don't know why) and finally a Porsche 996 C4S which I still have and is tucked away in the garage.
A few months ago, I bought an E36 BMW 318i convertible for the summer. I caught the sun in it but to be honest, it was an old car which had done nearly 140,000 miles. I decided to sell that and get the Alfa. My plan is to use the Alfa as a second car to avoid piling the miles on the Porsche.
So, here are a few quick pictures...
It's a 2003 2.0 Lusso. Manual. 70,000 miles, red leather interior, part service history although the cam belt has been changed at 50,000 miles. MOT until Feb 2015.
I picked it up in a private sale in Bath yesterday. Given that I am based in Manchester, I was a bit nervous about the long drive home and whether it would make it. I needn't have worried as it made the trip without any fuss and averaged around 40mpg which isn't too bad considering some of the traffic was stop start on the M5 and M6.
A few little jobs I want to do. One of the side lights has gone. Had a root about and it seems one of the previous owners has broken the plastic blade at the back of the bulb. It seems, I'll just have to shove a new one in and hope for the best. I'm also going to fit new LED interior bulbs. Door check straps are clicking and need attention. I've also just picked up 5 litres of 10w40 and an oil filter from ECP for £18 and will do the change later this evening at a friend's garage.
PS Not sure how to turn the option on to embed images straight into a post instead of a link...
