My name is Andre, I'm located in Buffalo, NY. I own an automotive business, Buffalo Motor Works. In the past I have been a mostly german guy; many e30 BMW's, a few e30 tourings, some datsun 240z's. I currently have a 73 240z and a 00 bmw m5.
At a local auction I'd been eying a 1982 Alfa. It went unsold for weeks, last night I finally contacted a friend who worked at the dealer that was selling it. History report indicated 1 owner 0 accident.
I didn't even see it. I asked my business partner to take a look, if it checked out I would make them an offer at a later date. I also said "if it's clean, feel free to toss a lowish bid." He did, and I picked it up.
My original plan was to buy it to sell. Along the drive home I took the top down when the rain stopped, I've been loving it ever since!
I'm now considering selling my m5 to keep this, which would also allow me to get my 240z going.
The Alfa is in great shape, no rust. It appears to have been well taken care of. Everything works, 94k miles. New top, new carpet, etc. Grinds in second gear which I hear is common.
I look forward to getting into it, gonna toss it on the lift tomorrow and check it out. Would like to look into the bumper swap, I much prefer the chrome bumpers from the early 70's.
Looking forward to enjoying the car!
