new 159 owner
After running around in a Fiat Panda for the last few years (it ended on 107K miles still going strong) I decided it was time for a change. the idea was to buy a small/medium estate, we've got dogs and I like estates previously had a 3er Touring and an S4 Avant. Started looking a Volvo V50's thought briefly about a BMW E9x 330i, and then started thinking about 159's.
I've ended up with a '07 1.9JTDm (sensible head firmly on) with 42K miles bought from an Alfa main dealer with a cam belt change done. Pretty standard spec, no Blue & Me :-( light silver with black interior standard 17" wheels (good I prefer the ride).
Considering I choose it primarily for the looks and the value the drive was almost secondary. It's obviously heavier than the Panda and feels huge, even given that our other car is a Discovery II. But it does feel special which certainly makes a change from the Panda.
This is meant to be a keeper and fully expect to keep it past 100K. No real special plans, will get it an interior valet to keep the leather nice, will need new tyres sooner than I'd like. Want to fit bluetooth/iPod connectivity but don't really want extra screens etc, xcanLink maybe?
I just like walking back to it and that it's different. Nice and confortable as well. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions and want to make it to some meet ups.
Trouble is this has given me thoughts of a V6 GTV for weekends and trackdays....
