Just bought an acid green spider off ebay. I collected it from Halifax and drove back yesterday to sunny Surrey. I drove all the way home with the roof down, it was fantastic, 4 and half hours drive in the sun.
The car is great with the exception of the rear suspension completely shagged
Good bits the roof is new, full stainless steel exhaust and the belts and waterpump have been recently replaced. The engine and box are sweet and I sat at above legal speeds for most of the journey, I went via M62 then A1M and finally the road to hell(M25). I was amazed how little wind noise there was, it does have the wind deflector.
Well I will be replacing the bushes and shock absorbers front and rear. I reckon it will be a lovely little car.
I am a bit of an Italian car fan, I have previously owned the following: Alfa Romeo 75 Twinspark, 1977 Alfetta GTV, 1996 GTV Coupe, Lancia Fulvia Coupe Series 1, Lancia Fulvia 2C, Lancia Gamma Coupe, 1997 Ferrari F355 F1. One of my favourite cars was the Alfa 75, I just loved the way it handled and the noise. Unfortunately written off after a doctor went up the back of me on the M1 near Watford.
I have always wanted an Acid Green Spider and I saw it on ebay and had to bid. It's far from mint, but very useable and a project.
Desired cars - Alfa Romeo GTV Bertone, Lancia Flavia 815 Coupe, Lancia Flaminia Coupe, Alfa Romeo 75 2.5 V6(not 3.0) drove one when they were new, the howl of that V6 stays with me, Alfa Romeo 90, Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider, Alfa Romeo TZ(lottery win
I will post some piccies
