Hello from Exeter

Dear All,

I am the new owner of a Black 2008 210BHP, 159 Ti 2.4 JTDm 4wd.

I bought this car privately from a very nice chap who was clearly very sad to see it go.

The car has done 53000 miles, and i have to say that viewing this forum has already made my ownership experience a whole lot better.

Having come from some quick cars (Audi RS2, and a few quick BMW's), i was not expecting too much from the Alfa, and in fairness, the car is not quick. Nor is it terribly economical, but the biggest bug bear of mine was the rattles and squeaks. I was simply not used to them, and they irritated the hell out of me!

Having had the car a month now (and with help of the forum), i have fixed a loose gear knob, completed the windscreen rattle mod / fix, and sorted out the rattles from the glovebox.

The stressful noises have all disappeared Thank you all once again.

As the car was pretty slow so i, (after a bit more reading) took the car to AHM for the EGR delete, DPF removal and remap. Aide also did the cambelt, tensioners and water pump at the same time.

The transformation is quite remarkable. I have gone from having a mild case of buyers remorse, to enjoying the car a great deal.

Finally (it has been a busy month), i have replaced the head unit with with a Sony cradle thing for my Z2 phone so i can have satnav etc.

Halfords | Sony XSP-N1BT Smartphone Cradle Receiver

A big lift in audio quality i must say but not a huge amount of tuning available. The radio reception was very poor though. No MW and bad FM reception. Forum to the rescue again with the 12v aerial booster. Problem solved.

All i need to do now are the upper front arms and an engine mount, and then to enjoy what is one of the most beautiful cars on the road.
