164 3.0 engine

I'm a new member that needs help

Just bought a 1977 fiat spider with an alfa 3.0 engine, believe its fom a model 164. Currently has side draft solex carburators. Would like to replace them with the stock intake manifolds and carbs that fit the motor. I am so far out of my league. Could really use some direction and a lot of help.

Welcome indeed. If it really is a 164 motor, you won't find any carbs to fit - the 164 was always an injected engine. The 3.0 V6 was only ever fitted with carbs in the early Alfa 6, I think. I think these were downdraught carbs - either Weber or Solex, I'd guess.......

I'm fairly certain that all the other cars in which the 3.0 V6 were fitted - Alfetta GTV6, 75 V6, 90, RZ/SZ and later front-wheel drive cars were all injected motors.

Sorry if this isn't much help......
