Well Happy Mito newbie!!

Hello everybody....

My brother, GTDriver, introduced me to this site. He is a long time Alfa lover and i recently picked up my first Alfa.

I got a 2011 Mito 1.4 Distinctive with 52000km on the clock. The dealer was looking for R149k, but i managed to get him down to R139k for a small ding on the right rear fender and the worn beading on the deiver's seat. It's the 2009 spec so it's the 114KW engine with the 6-speed gearbox and it goes like a dream... With all the extras and balance of service plan it has this really a lot of car for the money.

I was actually in the market for a Polo and had one lined up with finance approved. Luckily the previous owner didn't regulary service the polo, so i cancelled the deal when i went for the test drive. The next day my brother and i were sitting a Ford dealership waiting for me to test drive a figo diesel (don't ask!!). Anyway... As fate would have it the ford dealer's service was shocking and i asked my brother what he thought of me looking for a Mito. He was absolutely thrilled at the idea and i immediately hopped onto autotrader where i saw the 2011 Mito going going for 2010 prices. A short phone call later to confirm the details and availability and my brother and i were on the N14 to Roodepoort in his GT3.2. Driving up to the dealer as soon as i saw the Mito i said to my brother "I'm buying that car".

The test drive was flawless. The car is 3 years old and doesnt have a single rattle. The interior is beautiful and the build quality is excellent. It looks brand new with the exception of the tear on the driver's seat. I love the leather seats by the way... Its way more powerful and fun than the polo and i was instantly in love. The ride is exceptionally comfortable considering it has 17" wheels. Everything in the car is made with more passion and care than anything else i've ever driven. I was instantly hooked. 2 days later i took delivery of my new pride and joy!

In the 10 days i have had the car i have enjoyed every second in it. I smile every time i give it some beans... It's such a happy car to drive and loves being driven. Dynamic mode is the ****!!! I'd drive it like that all day if petrol wasn't so expensive!! Despite being a 2 door i managed to squeeze my 2 kids and their bikes into the Mito. I nearly had a heart attack when my father in law put the bikes on the back seat... But luckily no damage was done. A bike rack is definitely on the cards. All in all i cannot imagine driving anything else than this amazing little car. I am the envy of all my colleagues and my soon to be ex-wife...

The stars definitely aligned for the mito and i to get together. I will be forever grateful to the previous owner of the polo who couldn't be bothered to service it and to the one useless sales lady at one of the biggest ford dealers in the world. If it weren't for them i would not have found my mito.

I love mito and am looking forward to many, many happy miles...
