Back in the Alfa Fold
I have just bought my 5th Alfa since 1978, which replaced a Subaru.
I have a black 2006 Brera 3.2 V6 Q4 with 18.5k miles on the clock. Sure it needs new near side suspension bushes, but otherwise, she looks and drives almost like new. I made this decision after trying a similar aged Porsche Carerra 4S, which I just couldn't live with. Neither did it look as nice and to cap it all, it broke down on the test drive!
Any regrets after putting 200 miles on it in 3 days (not that easy in Guernsey)? I wish I was quicker at catching on to all the electronic gizmos including satnav and I wish it had the GTA 3.2 engine, but hey! I'm just glad I've got one at last.
Other Alfas I have owned include 2 Alfa Sud Tis, a 156, a 147 and now the Brera. Not one has ever broken down or been anything other than fantastic to be in and to drive. I suspect the Brera will prove to be the same.
I don't care about ability on the track, or whether it might not be quite as well built or reliable as a BMW. I bought it to sit in and look at!
