had the car 2 weeks now.46678 mls onclock.2000 w plate.Is timing belt neeing changed.

Year 2000 and 46,678mls on the clock - then yes it needs replaced if it hasn't been done before. The V6 is less prone to failure than the TS but with that age it needs replaced.

Do a search for the other parts that should be replaced at the same time - its a big and expensive job

hello and welcome, I would change it mate as they said above, its more piece of mind, these have gone with less miles before now, don't forget to get the tensioners done too !! mine was done before the recommended date!

Yes, change it. The book says every 72K miles, I`m happy with 60K mile changes(ish), but if yours has been on since new then its too old and has to go!

Don`t forget to have the tensioners changed too, and if you intend to keep the car for a while, get the water pump changed as well.
