Hello guys, I am in Australia & a now happy owner of a 1998 Alfa Spider TS.
I also have an old 69 model Giulia Ti which is still under restoration,
but needed to get a road going Alfa !
I'd like to go and attend drive meets & gathering without just droowling
over other members cars, wishing my reto was complete
I found a great Specimen of Spider recently local to were I live, one owner since new.
I found though, like so many others on here, the sticky centre console problem,
thought the owner had used Orange oil or similar to clean up which sent the plastic a sticky
mess, but I was relieved thankfully after reading that many suffered the same drama.
Got to it today, removed the console, washed it up in very hot soapy water
& some scrubbing with soapy steelo. seemed to work removing all the sticky stuff quite
well. Best do it when the wife is not home as the kitchen sink was a little grubby
afterwards, thankfully I was able to return our kitchen to it's pristine condition again.
I then finished it off with 4 coats of a product called " Plasti Dip "
one job successfully sorted ! not a hard job at all OMO
