155 2.0 TS

Wave Hello

Howdy all.

I found this forum as I was searching to find out about updating the 155 2.0 TS I currently drive-I was given it by some friends who went back to New Zealand a year ago. Only done 165 000m, so not urgent yet! but I will probably need work on the hand brake this time round for a warrant (was solved by soaking last time, part Quote was 230 if it didn't work)

don't know much about alfas really, but I do like mine despite all the jibes about it being in the garage. It is nowhere near as bad as to friends Renaults.
what does JTS stand for by the way?

Not sure what to get but thought a 2.0 156 would be the natural upgrade.

Re: Hello

welcome to AO dude....

JTS = Jet Thrust Stoichiometric

IMO i would go for the 1.8 TS, more free reving than the 2.0, will cost less to maintain and a couple of groups lower for insurance premiums....the better package

all the best

Hmmm Re: Hello

cheers for that. I understand the 1.8 puts out the same as my older 2.0, probably more given the mileage and number of owners. I still don't understand why 2L is thought of as a big car here, 1.8 to 2.5, 4 door is normal family size. Not like it is an HSV clubsport or Skyline. As I walk to walk and do motorway driving to get to climbing in the weekends (normally carrying friends) I had also been considering the V6, but reckon the insurance premiums are going to kill that idea.
