I'm Larry, from Mansfield, OH (USA). I purchased my first Alfa Roameo Spider (Graduate) about 2 years ago. It is red, with black interior, and looks exceptional.
It has 60,000 miles on it, and yes, the odometer works properly, and the miles are accurate. I love driving it, and plan to keep it for a long time.
I would like to address a couple of issues with the group, and would love to hear some feedback.
1. When I put the top up on a cold morning, the rear window split clean in two :-( The top is in poor shape, so I needed to replace it anyway. I have never replaced a convertible top, so I think I would prefer to have it done professionally. Does anyone have any advice for me? Who will do it, how much should I pay, etc.
2. The chrome rings around my headlights are pitting. I would like a new pair. Does anyone know where I can get them? Price?
3. When I accelerate hard, I feel some grinding in the seat. It almost feels like the tire is rubbing the wheel well, but I don't think that's the case. It could be the rear universal joint is going out. Is this a common problem for Alfas? Fix?
4. I want another one for a daily driver, while I continue to improve and restore the one I have. Does anyone have one for sale in my area?
Thanks in advance for any input and help you can offer. Feel free to e-mail me at email@example.com
