i think i am just about to buy an alfa. Don't know if this entirely wise as there is still a lot of adverse comment on reliability, however most of the other options are just so booorrrriiiing....
Probably go for a GT though the 147 has the same chasis and engine (?)
you lot are all alfa nuts so i guess that impartial advice i wont get. Anyhow, frightfully pleased to meet you.

Hi and welcome to AO

I think you'll find the GT is actually based on the 156 chassis and it has a 2 litre JTS, not the 2 litre TS which you get in the 147.

But I've driven both and would say it depends on budget and what you want from the car. I loved the 147, for me it drove a bit like a go-kart, you could really throw it about and have fun. I wanted a coupe though and prefered the GT from the start. The JTS engine sounds and drives great and I just think it is a stunning looking car.

Whicever one you go for, I'm sure you'll love it
