New Sportwagon owner - Dodgy tail light

Just bought a last '02 model Alfa 156 sportwagon 2.0 TS
Lovely motor.

Was a former 3.0 GTV owner but had to get rid of it.

Still loving my new sportwagon...

Only one problem... Off-side tail-light is faulty and warning light is on... Can't seems to trace the fault...Any ideas?

Re: New Sportwagon owner - Dodgy tail light

Search the forum for this problem, i think it may be to do with the rev counter........no, im not winding you up........i think the rear lights earth through it or something, probably to do with the bulb failure thingummy.

Re: New Sportwagon owner - Dodgy tail light

Well no luck so far trying to fix the problem.
I took the rev counter to bits and could not locate any obvious problems. My electronics is perhaps too rusty and out of date to help me much.

In the end I did a temporary "fix" by masking off the connection to the off-side light and connecting the bulb to the near-side. Works fine but I still want to have a go and actually repair it rather than this bodge.

Will keep you all posted.

Does anyone know of a successfull repair made to the rev counter circuit?

Yes....someone posted that it was dead easy and consisted of replacing a single component iirc. No idea where the post is but try a search
