Another member of the family...

Hi everyone,

My name is Ed and I've returned to the family of Alfa Owners with a '98 156 1.8TS S1.
This isn't my first dip into the joys of Italian motoring, I've run a number of Alfas and the occasional Fiat in the past, mostly in my youth when provided by my father (Patrick Bailey - he's a member here, look at his CV in his intro post. The man is a fruitcake when it comes to Italian motors!).

Since I got to the age where my father no longer feels the need to support his older sons motoring whims I've had to get my own motors and have ended up with a BMW. It's a great car but it didn't have the passion of the Alfas so when my wife gave birth to the first spawn we leapt on the chance to get the 156.

I've had it for a month or so now and it's already proving to be fabulously quirky - the alarm has gone mental twice and now given up all together and gone in to permanent flash mode. I've already got some advice from a search of the forum on how to sort this.

Anyway, Stop rambling and get on with it.

Hello Dad!

Ed

Hi Ed, welcome to the site

PS: In your profile it says you have a 155 but the post says 156. Which one do you drive?

That's a mighty eye for detail you've got there BigFoot!

My profile is (was) wrong, I drive a 156. I know this makes me "new age" but my passion is actually for the Giulia GT (although I would settle for the 8C competizione!) which makes me old skool....

Schizophrenia rules...whichever way I look at it.
