New Alfa Owner
I recently purchased a '84 Spider that's in pretty good shape.
Since I'm in central Connecticut winter is looming in the not so distant future, and storage issues are of concern right now. The rights the wrongs, the do's the don'ts.
From what the po told me, the person he bought it from had done a number of performance upgrades when the engine was rebuilt in 2001. From what I can see of the paperwork that came with it, along with the CARFAX and AutoCheck reports, the person I bought it from only drove it around 3k miles since he purchased it in 2001.
I was suffering from withdrawl since selling a 71 Karmann Ghia convertible that I bought 7 years ago online in California and flew out and drove back following RT66 for as much as I could.
Nothing against the Ghia, but the Spider is a BLAST to drive!
From the research I've done I was prepared for the typical 2nd gear grind and a garage floor reminiscent of the Exxon Valdez, etc.
What's been another really nice suprise is that there's no grind, and no leaks....knock on wood!
I look forward to exchanging info with other owners here-
